The draft horse show at MSU lured me
because I am working on a book that
requires a few sketches of draft horses.
I dragged daughter Emily, grandson Cayden
and husband Charlie along with me.
Emily because she's 8 and would love horses up close,
Cayden because he's almost 3 and loves anything,
Charlie because he could rein in Cayden.
Because these sketches are for a book
and I don't often get to see draft horses in person,
I was nervous to get them right,
so most of them I did in pencil. This, the first, I did in pen.
We were there for about 75 minutes so each of these
pages took an average of 8 minutes, if you don't count
the running-after-Cayden time.
